Christmas is just around the corner, and if you haven’t done so already, you will probably be starting to think about your Christmas tree very soon. When choosing a Christmas tree, the first decision you will need to make is whether to go for a real tree, or a fake tree.

If you buy a tree grown locally, a real Christmas tree is much more eco-friendly than a fake one, which are usually made out of plastic. Whilst fake trees can be reused year after year, the same can be done with real Christmas trees if you buy one with roots intact. Caring for a real Christmas tree can however be difficult, and even those which are meant to resist dropping their needles can still become messy.

Plastic trees are easy to care for, and will often take up less floor space for the same height tree. They can be used again year after year, however if you’re the sort of person who likes to mix things up each Christmas, buying a new fake tree each year can quickly become very costly.

Which is the better Christmas tree? Only you can decide.
