Sites such as Freecycle make it easy to find a new home for your old television within your local community by simply giving it away. Even if you have an old, bulky, cathode ray tube model, it’s highly likely that someone will be able to make good use of it and most items find a taker in just a few days.

Local youth clubs and charities may also be willing to take your television. Some charities, such as the British Heart Foundation, will even collect your set for free.
