When you’re moving house, office or even renovating a building you often need to dispose of vast quantities of rubbish. If you’ve a large amount of waste you might be left wondering what your options are for getting rid of it. There are many services these days for waste collection including wait and load skip hire, which is becoming a common service amongst skip hire firms.

What is a “wait and load” skip?

Wait and load skips are quite simply skips that are driven to your premises (whether they are residential or commercial) on the back of a lorry and wait while you dispose of your waste. These skips can be hired from a variety of companies across the country and spend around 30 minutes to an hour waiting while you get rid of all your junk. Most wait and load skips will dispose of large bulky items as well as large quantities of materials like plasterboard, building waste and wood, and general waste.

All skip hire companies offer slightly different services, some offer the use of the skip as a one off service where others might provide the skip over a period of days to assist with big or complex projects. Some companies will also provide labour to help you load your waste into the skip, although this may incur additional charges depending on the company you choose.

Why you should use wait and load?

If you’re in a city centre location, where restrictions and space make it difficult to place a skip, wait and load skip hire might be for you. You don’t have to be in the city centre to hire this type of service though. You might use it if you have been refused an on road skip permit from your local council. Wait and load can also be advantageous if you are short on time or just want your rubbish out of the way in a hurry, since it’s taken virtually straight away (ususlly within an hour). Plenty of companies are able to provide the skip to you the same day, or even the next day.

The waste is often recycled where possible so, as well as being a quick and convenient service, it’s eco-friendly too.
