Congratulations are in order for the efforts of the UK’s DIY sector. According to the latest HISC (Home Improvement Sector Commitment) report, the retailers involved have made an impressive contribution to the UK’s aims to reduce waste disposal. These retailers are now using 25% less packaging, sending 83% less waste to landfill and helping their customers recycle more.
Indeed, the sector has significantly passed the targets set, considering that the aims were to decrease landfill by 50% and reduce packaging by 15%. Retailers involved in the voluntary agreement include Argos, Homebase, Wickes, Crown Paints and B&Q.
