In 2011 recycling rates were 63.7%, an increase of 0.3% from 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Despite a 1.9% increase in packaging being produced, the amount of waste going to final disposal over this period fell by 2.9%, indicating an overall improvement in the efficiency of packaging waste handling.
