The idea has provoked fears of over spilling waste and health hazards and many families have already contacted the council, worried about how and where they would store their waste for a month at a time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theskipcompany.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/canstockphoto15425484.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-140\" alt=\"canstockphoto15425484\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theskipcompany.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/canstockphoto15425484.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.theskipcompany.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/canstockphoto15425484.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.theskipcompany.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/canstockphoto15425484-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.theskipcompany.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/canstockphoto15425484-624x415.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Assembly Member, Eluned Parrot has called the plan \u201cabsurd\u201d, \u201cunsanitary\u201d and \u201cunhealthy\u201d and believes the move would only worsen fly-tipping and littering. Parrot added, \u201cInstead of short-sighted cuts as this one, which if it leads to fly tipping or vermin problems may cost the Council more in the long run, Cardiff\u2019s Labour council needs to make smarter choices.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Plus, Top Gear presenter, Jeremy Clarkson has spoke out to criticise the plans, deeming that the monthly collections would mean the \u201centire population of Cardiff will be suffering from the bubonic plague.\u201d He added, \u201cThere will be so much litter in the streets that rats and plague are sure to follow.\u201d He also echoed the AM\u2019s views that more people would dispose of their waste unlawfully, to avoid overflowing bins.<\/p>\n<p>Eric Pickles, the Communities and Local Government Secretary is another to attack the idea. He said, \u2018These barmy bin policies will harm the local environment by fuelling fly-tipping and back yard burning\u2019 and further added, \u2018Hard-working people will suffer from a derisory bin collection service in return for paying a fortune in council tax\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>This idea is one of many aimed at reducing council spending by \u00a3125 million and increasing recycling by 58% to hit the government target in 2015. Some of the other proposals include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fines for those who put the wrong sort of rubbish into bins<\/li>\n<li>A \u2018pay as you throw\u2019 scheme where families pay less, the more they recycle<\/li>\n<li>Smaller bins introduced to encourage families to waste less<\/li>\n<li>Limited amount of black bin bags per household, per month<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you\u2019re looking for a quick, easy and safe waste disposal solution, we can help.
