Replace your old lights with LED or CFL low-energy bulbs and see the difference when the bills come in. Remember, as it’s summer you’ll need to have your lights on for less time as the evenings continue to brighten up your home. Don’t turn on your lights when you don’t need to!<\/p>\n Make the house work for you<\/strong><\/p>\n When the weather’s too hot, we can be tempted to turn on fans or air-conditioning units, just as when it’s cold, we reach for the heater switch. This sounds like common sense, but rather than cooling the house artificially, use a combination of open windows to allow a flow of air and curtains or blinds to block out the sun’s glare.<\/p>\n With a little effort and forethought, you can not only cut your energy bills, but you can help to make a difference to the environment.
