If you are unsure or slightly nervous where to begin, or simply looking for some inspiration, here are a few pointers:

1. Paint the tiles—a lot of people don’t realise that with the correct primer and paint (and some sound advice) you can radically transform those ghastly coloured tiles into something far more tasteful. You can paint every visible tile or pick out patterns or borders to create an appealing effect.

2. Wallpaper an area—you don’t have to go mad and wallpaper everywhere, perhaps just above the tiles. Wallpaper is very good at ‘neutralising’ slightly garish tile colours. Be sure to choose moisture resistant adhesive and paper.

3. Resurface the bath and change the panel—you can resurface the bath yourself or have it professionally done; very useful if you dislike the colour, want to cover stains, cracks or crumbling enamel. You can also change a new bath panel fairly easily to one of your choosing.

4. New taps—one of the simpler plumbing tasks, other than fixing a washer. You might be surprised how stylish types (brand new or used) not only make a decorative difference, but well-designed taps with good functionality make for a better bathroom experience all round.

5. Towel rails—towel rails store towels neatly and enable them to dry out properly and stay fresh. Heated towel rails can even replace the ageing radiator; they can be both stylish and multifunctional.

6. Put up some shelving where appropriate—this helps to tidy up clutter, or acts as a feature for displaying fresh or dried flowers, candles, sea shell collections, books, incense etc.

7. New Shower curtain and towels—these are very simple alterations, perhaps the quickest and easiest of all, but still make quite an impact.

8. Artwork and pictures—this is another very simple task: a tasteful piece of art can contribute to a pleasing atmosphere; and a particularly engaging work can offer a distraction to some of the less attractive facets of a bathroom. Well-framed family holiday or scenic photos are also an option, especially if they involve the beech and ocean or any aqua related theme.

There are a variety of ways to spruce up your bathroom without it costing the earth or causing too much upheaval; anything from a few touches here and there and a dash of colour, to some quite bold and dramatic transformations.
[4
143,265,264,266
post-691","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-home-improvements","tag-bathroom","tag-bathroom-decor","tag-bathroom-ideas","tag-spruce-up-bathroom
["GET
