However, don't think that our skips aren't suitable for other purposes. We will work with you to fit the skip to its specialised role, such as agricultural clearance.
There are few limitations set as to what our skips can be used for. However, the Skip Company does not permit the general disposal of dangerous or volatile items. These include types of waste such as batteries, asbestos, heavy household goods such as fridges, and Japanese Knotweed.
If you are looking at undertaking this sort of clearance it is best to talk to us in advance and we can help you with hazardous waste disposal. While a solution can be found to your problem, you may incur additional waste disposal charges if you fail to declare hazardous waste.
The process is simple. You select the skip(s) you want, we give you a quote, we deliver it, you fill it with waste, and then you can call us at your leisure when the skip is ready for collection.
Most skips will be rented out for a 7-14 day hire period, giving you plenty of time to fully clear out the waste you want removed. Longer skip hire periods can be arranged with The Skip Company if need be.
All of our hire services include transportation and processing, so you do not need to worry about the headaches of transferring the waste to another site. Rural locations are not a problem, as long as they are connected to a road. Most of our skips are delivered and retrieved by light goods vehicle.
Our versatile skip size system allows us to match the hire cost to the scope of your project. You only pay for the capacity you really need. Our skips come in sizes of 4 to 16 cubic yards, or a maximum capacity of approximately 150 bags of rubbish. For larger projects (such as major building sites) it is worth considering our RORO (roll-on, roll-off) shipping container storage service.
We also understand the challenges of working with shops and houses in highly sensitive and less navigable locations such as the historic streets of Frome, as well. Laws or restrictions such as narrow roads may make roadside placement of a portable skip unsafe or unfeasible.
In cases such as this we can also offer Grab Hire (crane included) and Wait and Load lorries. Using a heavy duty parked haulage vehicle for loading often allows for waste to be removed from terraced housing or a row of businesses quickly and cleanly in under a day (clearance speed permitting).
We're also environmentally friendly as well as efficient. The Skip Company targets a 95% rate of recycling from the waste containers we process at our recovery sites.
